Last week, three of our volunteer members provided Fire Safety education to approximately 75 students at Silver Spring Elementary. MCFRS Engine 701 and Ambulance 701 crews came to the school to demonstrate the units to students.

Important points included:

- Don't be afraid of FF's in gear

- Calling 911 and knowing their address

- Telling adults about hot things/Don't play with matches

- Stop drop and roll

- Smoke detectors and batteries

- Getting out of a burning building - Do it first and stay low

- Planning an outdoor meeting place

Thanks to volunteers Christina Giblin, Darian Unger and Patrick Vongchan for the community outreach!
