Mr. Frank Llewellyn Heller, 95, of Silver Spring, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2016, He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Lorraine Heller.

In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Heller is survived by three children, Frank E. Heller (Sarah), Christine Amburn, and Suzanne Riedel; five grandchildren, James, Bradley, Gary (Sarah), Todd (Rachel), and Maggie; two brothers, James Heller (Helen) and Jack Heller (Grace); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by seven siblings, and by a son-in-law, Robert Amburn.

Mr. Heller was a career firefighter, and served in the Montgomery County Fire Department in Silver Spring and was also a volunteer with Independent Hose Company #1 in Frederick. At the time of his death, he was the oldest living retired firefighter in either department. Mr. Heller also loved to hunt and fish, solving puzzles and model trains. In later years, he enjoyed sharing these interests with his grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 30th at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, where a funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens; the Rev. Harry C. Cole will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any local fire service.
